Aesthetic Education revisited

New Perspectives via Victor’s Art

Contemporary art, which is sold for extremely high prizes, is called ›victor’s art‹ by Wolfgang Ullrich, because it is art from victorious artists, produced for victorious clients. Therefore, the specific aesthetic potentials only come clear, if such artworks are understood both as art and as consumer products. This article focuses on the phenomenon of victor’s art in order to discus, if this aesthetic concept leads also to a revision of concepts of aesthetic education.
