Athenäum - this is the famous magazine of the Schlegel brothers. The name was also the title of a research and education programme with the highest standards. Especially with the philological, critical and philosophical works of Friedrich Schlegel, the Athenaeum founded Romanticism.
The new Athenaeum makes Schlegel's groundbreaking innovations productive for current research in philology and media cultural studies. At the same time, Friedrich Schlegel focuses on the whole of Romanticism: Literature, language, art, music, law and state, philosophy, religion and nature. The Yearbook is thus interdisciplinary and supranational, open to expert knowledge, self-reflection and irritation. In addition to the editorial, which is devoted to current topics and relates them to Friedrich Schlegel's reflections, it contains new contributions to Schlegel's and Romanticism research, which must first have been peer-reviewed. In addition, it offers new finds, discussions, interviews, features, reports and experiments as well as a review section.
